DetailApp is a marketplace platform connecting customers with professional detailers using a Wolt-like model: the detailer comes to you, payment is protected with an escrow system, and the entire process is documented with video proof (before/after).

The mobile app (Expo/React Native) covers the full flow for both sides: searching and filtering detailers by location, instant or scheduled bookings, live chat, loyalty points and an Apple/Google Wallet card with QR scanning on arrival.

The admin panel (Next.js) offers a real-time platform overview: detailer verification, dispute management, financial overview, KPIs and system status. A Convex backend provides reactive data without polling, automatic deletion of expired videos and a ready-made Stripe Connect integration.

Challenge

Build a two-sided platform (customers + detailers) with a complex payment flow (escrow), video proof with GPS/timestamp and real-time updates – all from a single codebase for iOS, Android and web.

Solution

React Native with Expo for one mobile codebase on both platforms, Convex for a reactive backend with zero infrastructure, and a Next.js admin panel with shadcn/ui for operational oversight. Stripe Connect for escrow, Firebase for push notifications.

Results

A complete two-sided marketplace platform – from registration and OTP verification through to completing a booking with video proof.
